Reading in Room 16

TERM 3 Reading: This term we have started our Reading with a Shared Book called, "Tales of a forth grade nothing" by Judy Blume. The text has been read using "reciprocal teaching" which is a reading strategy where some of the children assume the role of the reading leader in their mixed ability reading group. The students read segments of text and then analyse the text using four strategies: summarizing, question generating, clarifying, and predicting.

The children are getting really good at leading their reading and also using these 4 strategies. You can watch some of some of them in action on our home page.
