TERM 3 Reading

Reciprocal teaching: This term we have started our Reading with a Shared Book called, "Tales of a forth grade nothing" by Judy Blume. The text has been read using "reciprocal teaching" which is a reading strategy where some of the children assume the role of the reading leader in their mixed ability reading group. The students read segments of text and then analyse the text using four strategies: summarizing, question generating, clarifying, and predicting. Watch these children leading their own reading learning!

Wow Room 16! You have learnt so much about being successful readers by teaching each other. I know that you can all predict, ask good questions, clarify and summarise text now! From Mrs Millett

Hi Room 16, I just watched the reciprocal reading group well done, great to see you are all working together. It can be abit hard to ask questions about the text, but well done and keep up the good work.
